“This sense of hope which arises with the Spring is one of the Wood element’s greatest gifts to us, and the heart of its very essence. For it is only through vision and hope of this kind that we shall ever find the motivation and sense of purpose for everything that we do.” ~ J.R. Worsley

Food Tips:
🌱 Always eat cooked vegetables and room temperature or warm foods during the Spring season.
🌱 Avoid eating raw vegetables and smoothies. Cook vegetables at least to firm/al dente (not hard-raw.) Occasional small salads of bitter greens like arugula and watercress help enhance the liver’s detoxification efforts.
🌱 Eat dark leafy greens such as sautéed or steamed kale and swiss chard.
🌱 Eat cooked bitter greens like dandelion and endive. Drink milk thistle tea for its detoxification properties
🌱 Consume tart foods such as grapefruit, lemon and lime which support optimal liver function.
🌱 Garnish dishes lightly with shaved radishes (raw) as they help to circulate Qi throughout the body
🌱 Lightly sprinkle in arugula or sprouts like alfalfa, mung bean and sunflower to make a delicious and nutritious addition to warm bowls and a garnish for meals.
